On August 21, Jiangsu province reported no new locally transmitted case of Covid-19.

Two confirmed cases and seven asymptomatic carriers, all inbound, were newly reported in the province.

Another hospitalized Covid-19 patient was discharged, while four asymptomatic carriers were released from medical observation.

Twelve confirmed cases (three local and nine inbound) are still undergoing treatment at designated hospitals, while 55 asymptomatic carriers (21 local and 34 inbound) are currently under medical observation in isolation.

As of this update, China's list of virus transmission zones stands at 1,271 high-risk and 988 medium-risk areas.
