On November 20th, a Changzhou delegation headed by party secretary Yan Li visited Macau and held the Changzhou (Macau) Tourism Promotion 2014. As quoted from Yan Li’s speech in the fair, Changzhou is an emerging manufacturing base with a modern atmosphere, and a historic city in the south of Yangtze River rich in culture. In recent years, Changzhou has identified tourism as a leader of modern service industry, kept increasing investment in tourism projects, and gradually launched a series of tourism programs with features like southern landscape, religious culture, theme parks, ancient canal, etc. The city has two national 5A scenic spots and nine national 4A scenic spots, retaining the fourth place in Jiangsu Province in the total number of received tourists and the amount of tourism revenue. It is reported that last year Changzhou received a total of 44.36 million tourists and achieved tourism revenue of 57.1 billion yuan, increased by 16.4% and 19.9% respectively.
