A local think tank is established to further systematic reforms

The Changzhou Research Center of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Reform & Development was set up on December the 24th. It consists of entrepreneurs, scholars and officials, who will provide support and consultation for Changzhou’s reform endeavor. It is hoped that the center will help enhance science & technology management of the local government and further promote innovation to drive economic and social development.

The center’s first expert consultation committee comprises 10 entrepreneurs, 3 researchers, 4 professors and 4 officials. And the committee’s main responsibilities include: 1)propose research topics and organize relevant research work in line with Changzhou’s development priorities and innovation needs; 2)submit to Changzhou Science & Technology Bureau research reports, field trip reports and consultation papers in a timely manner; 3)conduct academic forums, salons and research fruit briefings on a regular basis; 4)assist and participate in relevant research and field trips that are initiated by Changzhou Science & Technology Bureau; 5)provide support to important science & technology activities organized by local authorities.
