On July 20, it was learned that the Changdang Lake Water Plant in Jintan District, with a total investment of 700 million yuan, has officially started water supply.

Changdang Lake Water Plant is a key infrastructure project for Jintan in the ?3th Five-Year Plan period. The construction began in October 2015 with a designed production capacity of 300,000 tons per day. At present, Changdang Lake is the source of water. Later, the Xinmenghe River will become another source of water.

After three months of joint debugging, the equipment of each production unit of the water plant is in good condition. The effluent has been tested by the state-approved Wuxi Water Quality Testing Center. All the 106 indicators of water quality are in full compliance with the national drinking water standards. In order to ensure the safety of the water source, the relevant departments have also implemented a fully enclosed physical isolation within a radius of 500 meters from the intake point, prohibiting navigation, and setting up warning signs in the first- and second-level protection areas as well as the quasi-protection areas of the water source.
