It was informed on January 9th that in 2015 the total exports of photovoltaic products shipped from the Changzhou Port reached 15,021 TEUs, an increase of 13.18% over the previous year. Among them, exports to the US was 10,410 TEUs, a substantial increase of 25.65%, accounting for 69.3% of the overall PV product exports; and exports to Asia, Australia, Africa and other emerging markets was 3,399 TEUs, an increase of 39.88%, accounting for 22.62%. The emerging markets have replaced the EU as our second largest export market of PV products. Affected by the antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) operations carried out by the EU against PV products, Changzhou’s exports to the EU only made 1,212 TEUs last year, dropped 52.6%, accounting for 8.07% of the city’s exports, a sharp decrease from 2013. Under the pressure of low oil prices and EU's AD and CVD operations, Changzhou’s PV product exports to the EU may not be recovered in any short term. In 2015, Changzhou’s PV companies vigorously expanded into emerging markets other than the EU and further developed the American market, which reversed the previous downward trend and restored a positive growth. From the beginning of August 2015, the exports reached respectively 1,113 TEUs, 1,025 TEUs, 2,135 TEUs, 1,509 TEUs and 1,089 TEUs within five months, increased by 30.48%, 13.64%, 132.32%, 98.03 % and 64.50% respectively.
