It was learned at the press conference on June 4 that from January to April this year, Changzhou’s air quality has improved over last year. In the entire 120 days, a total of 70 days achieved good air quality index (AQI), 14 days more than last year, an increase of 11.6%, of which particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) concentration decreased by 7.3%. Beginning this year, Changzhou implemented a new project called "Minus Two & Add One" and 50 measures in 10 areas to ensure that PM2.5 concentration will drop by 20% in 2017. In 2014, the city will complete 1,208 programs for air pollution control. In addition, the city's overall urban ecological environment quality is good, the eco-environmental quality index (EQI) reached 63.02, roughly flat with last year. In the first four months of this year, there are 42 days with mild and moderate pollution, and eight days with heavy pollution.
