The fifth “Our Festival·the Lantern Festival-Changzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Display†will be held in People’s Park at 9:30 a.m. on February 14. The preserved intangible cultural heritage of national, provincial, municipal and district levels will be divided into two groups—static and dynamic. Things of static intangible cultural heritages include: traditional food such as Changzhou magao (a sweet and savory Chinese sesame cake),Hengshangqiao bean curd sheets, Taixingfish ball, Huangli beef), Hengshanqiao bean curd leaf, Jiaodian pork, Jiaze A’xing stewed duck head, Changzhou pear syrup candy, Changzhou pickled radish, and so on. There are also more than 10 kinds of intangible cultural heritages, namely, dough modeling, paper-cut and many other traditional arts and crafts. There are over 10 intangible cultural heritages in total. The display will be held mainly in forms of material object and field fabrication. Among the dynamic ones are traditional folk customs like dragon dance, Wansui monkey lanterns, land boat dance, head on the vat, Xiaorehun (a traditional Chinese folk art in Wu area) and Xiju (Wuxi Opera) which will be performed on stage. People can also participate in some interactive activities, for instance, guessing lantern riddles.
