Graphene is regarded as one of the most cutting-edge innovative materials. Changzhou, whether in research and development or technology transfer of graphene, has been taking a lead in China. Recently, it was learned from the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau that the national standards working team for lamellar graphite has settled in Changzhou, which means the future GB standards (the Chinese national standards issued by the Standardization Administration of China) for graphene will be made in Changzhou. Currently, there are only corporate standards for graphene as a new material, while Jiangnan Graphene Institute, which is the country's first institute for research and industrial incubation on graphene, is gathering experts in this field to discuss about issues related to the constitution of GB standards. At present, the Determination of the Number of Layers of Graphene by Scanning Probe Microscopy drafted under the lead of Jiangnan Graphene Institute has been accepted by the Standardization Administration of China for establishing relevant GB standards, which will help achieve a healthy development of graphene industry and promote the technological exchange, trade and application of new materials.
