On September 9th, the 2017 Changzhou "Health +" Industry Promotion Fair was co-hosted by Changzhou Municipal People’s Government and Jiangsu Provincial Civil Affairs Department in Nanjing. Hou Xueyuan, director of the Provincial Civil Affairs Department, and Ding Chun, mayor of Changzhou, together inaugurated the event.

Ding said in his speech that Changzhou attaches great importance to the development of quality elderly care services and will enhance the supportive policies to promote the health industry of "sunset crowd" into a "sunrise industry."

In the fair, six cooperation projects were signed to be settled in Changzhou. They are the Hohai International Elderly Care Products Exhibition Center, Landsea Elderly Care Service Community, Xinhai Building, Lehui Home-Based Care Services Network, Zhixiu Five-in-One Elderly Care Service System, and the Central Art Park.

The fair displayed more than 3,000 "elderly care artifacts" in over 300 categories developed by Changzhou enterprises, such as a magical wheelchair allowing the elderly to go up and down the stairs easily; a set of cabinets that can rise and fall 50-110 cm with just a press on the button; and a VR device which brings the elderly to the virtual supermarket and garden through the display screen.

At present, Changzhou has over 400 manufactures of rehabilitation aids and products, with annual sales of more than 100 billion yuan.
