According the statistics from Changzhou Bureau of Commerce, Changzhou’s e-commerce turnover reached 85 billion yuan in 2013, amounting to 20% of GDP. E-commerce demonstrates a favorable momentum of expanding industrial scale, diverse commercial models, influential enterprise brands, emerging industry cluster and growing driving forces. The statistics show that there have been 62,000 enterprises and individually-owned businesses in Changzhou purchasing and marketing through e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba and Made-in-China.com. The number of e-commerce operators engaged in network retail is 4,500, with more than 100,000 employees. Among the sales volume of 85 billion yuan last year, B2B (business to business) accounts for 84.7% with 72 billion yuan; network retail accounts for 8.2% of the total retail sales of consumer goods with 13 billion yuan.
