The 31.3 million euros project of Aguona Group’s plant in Changzhou National High-tech District (CND) has been officially completed and put into production. On the morning of March 18, Aguona Fruit (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. held its opening ceremony. Mayor Ding Chun, Zhou Bin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of the Party Working Committee of CND, and Hang Yong, secretary general of the Municipal Government, attended the event. Founded in 1988, the Agrana Group is a food company based in Vienna that produces sugar, starch, fruit preparation, juice concentrate and ethanol fuel. Agrana is mainly supplying to international food industry, with some minor end customer business. A known brand is Wiener Zucker. Agrana runs around 50 facilities with major production bases in Australia, Austria, Argentina, Brasil, China, France, Germany, Hungary, Korea, Morocco, Mexico, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Ukraine, United States. Agrana Fruit (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. was established on July 21, 2017, located in the Life and Health Industrial Park in Changzhou National High-tech District. The total investment of the project is 31.3 million Euros and the registered capital is 12.52 million. It’s the largest investment project of Agrana Group in China, mainly producing jam, jam ingredients, juice concentrate, fruit and vegetable products and sauces. The main customers include Danone, Mengniu, Yili, Guangming, Sanyuan, Kraft Foods, Haoliyou, Unilever, Baxy and other manufacturers and suppliers of dairy products. In recent years, Changzhou National High-tech District has enhanced opening up and continued to optimize the business environment. In 2018, 110 foreign-invested enterprises were approved for registration in the district. Up to now, 1,745 multinational companies of 68 countries and regions have established their branches in the district, and 33 Fortune 500 companies have invested in 44 projects.
