On May 13, the Xinbei district government and Nanjing Normal University(NNU) signed an MOU to jointly build Xinlong Experimental School. Attending the ceremony were Mayor Chen Jinhu and NNU Party Secretary Hu Minqiang.

Xinlong Experimental School, affiliated to the NNU, will adopt a nine-year system. It is a public school jointly built by a university and a local government. According to Mayor Chen, as Changzhou aims to become an international star city of smart manufacturing in the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta, the city needs innovative talents more than ever. Education, as an engine for innovative development, drives urban upgrade and transformation. It is his hope that through joint efforts, more education resources will be channeled to Xinbei District. The municipal government will continue to expand the supply of education resources, delivering equal and quality education to every student.

Party Secretary Hu Minqiang pointed out that through cooperation, the two sides would strive to establish a model in basic education. In the future, the NNU will enhance cooperation with Changzhou in terms of scientific research, talent cultivation and sci-tech innovation.
