Sheng Lei, deputy Party chief and acting mayor of Changzhou, received a delegation of China CITIC Bank headed by Lu Jingen, secretary of Party committee and president of Nanjing Branch of the Bank. Sheng Lei stated at the meeting that Changzhou is pressing ahead with the goal of becoming an international star city of intelligent manufacturing and a pivotal hub in the Yangtze River Delta. Enhanced cooperation with central State-owned enterprises like CITIC will help Changzhou consolidate its strength for sustainable development, said Sheng. She looked forward to furthering cooperation with the CITIC group to promote industry-finance integration and coordinated innovation, as well as to accelerate digital transformation, servitization, and capital deepening in manufacturing. Lu Jingen stated that the CITIC group will actively cooperate with Changzhou to promote regional economic development, with comprehensive and lifecycle services in multiple areas. Vice mayor Li Lin and secretary-general Zhou Chengtao attended the meeting. China CITIC Bank, one of China's leading commercial banks, was established in 1987 and completed the duo-listing of A+H shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in April 2007. The bank's wide-ranging business operations include corporate finance, retail finance, and market finance. In November 1995, the China CITIC Bank officially opened its Changzhou branch, the first joint-stock commercial bank launched in the city.
