On the afternoon of September 26, Mayor Ding Chun, met with Mr.Ken Fat Fong Suk Koon, Mayor of Beau Bassin-Rose Hill, Mauritius.

At present, there are 11 enterprises of Mauritius investing in Changzhou, mainly involved in machinery, optoelectronics, electronics, rail transportation and so on. Last year, Changzhou’s exports to Mauritius amounted to 4.886 million US dollars, an increase of 13.9%. Since Changzhou and Beau Bassin-Rose Hill established sister-city relationship in 1998, the two sides have maintained close contact at government level. Beau Bassin-Rose Hill has sent delegations to Changzhou many times to participate in the annual Forum on Sci-Tech and Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation.

Mr.Ken Fat Fong Suk Koon is the first ethnic Chinese mayor of Beau Bassin-Rose Hill.

At the meeting, Ding expressed the hope that the two sides will further strengthen the intergovernmental and civil exchanges to promote all-round cooperation and achieve win-win situation.
