Changzhou’s CPI up 1.8% in March

Recently, it was learned from the Survey Office of the National Bureau of Statistics in Changzhou that Changzhou’s consumer price index (CPI) reached 101.8 in March, up 1.8% year-on-year, 0.6 percentage points lower than the pace of growth registered in February.

The CPI in March dropped 0.4% on a month-on-month basis. The prices of food, household appliances and maintenance services, clothing, goods and services of entertainment, education and culture, housing, health care, and products for personal use increased by 5.1%, 2.3%, 1.9%, 1.2%, 1.0% and 0.9% respectively. The prices of transportation and communication, and tobacco and alcohol reduced by 3.3% and 0.7% respectively.

Food prices rose 5.1% year-on-year, contributing 1.5 percentage points to the overall increase in CPI.
