On April 29th, the Award Ceremony of 2016 Tianmu Lake Design Competition was successfully held in Liyang. The event had the presence of leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Jiangsu Provincial Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Changzhou Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Liyang Committee of CPC, Liyang People’s Government, Jiangsu Industrial Design Association, township administrations of Liyang, Jiangsu Zhongguancun Science Park, Liyang Economy and Information Technology Bureau, Liyang Agriculture and Forestry Bureau, and Liyang Tourism Bureau. Representatives of local enterprises and winners of the competition also attended the ceremony.

The competition was co-sponsored by Jiangsu Industrial Design Association and Liyang People’s Government. A total of 458 businesses and individuals entered the competition, submitting 584 designs, 83 of which were selected for initial review. At last, 41 designs were awarded as winners.

Industrial design is important to expanding the categories and value-added output of products. Liyang Committee of CPC and Liyang People’s Government pays great attention to the development of industrial design sector. The 2016 Tianmu Lake Design Competition is considered as a successful debut of introducing high-end industrial design resources into Liyang and establishing a professional resource sharing platform, in order to constantly improve the city’s economic restructuring and development.
