Recently, Yuan Shunqing, a farmer-entrepreneur from Jintan, Changzhou, attended the 2019 National Role Models Conference held in Beijing as the only representative from Jiangsu province.

The National Role Models Conference was founded by the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League and has been successfully held for nine sessions.

Yuan Shunqing, now in his 60s, has been keen on charity events. Since 1999, he has always visited the elderly in nursing homes during the Chinese New Year. A few years ago, having his daughter-in-law taking over the company he founded, he set up an agricultural specialties display and sales center together with over 20 professional agricultural cooperatives in Jintan, in order to help more local cooperatives and farmers realize prosperity.

Yuan Shunqing has also set up the first Dependent Children’s Home in the province, giving aid to more than 30 dependent children and hiring teachers to tutor them during the winter and summer vacations.
