On December 17, the second China-Israel Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Final for Medical Equipment Group was opened in Wujin, Changzhou. The contest was hosted by the China Science and Technology Exchange Center, the Israel Innovation Authority and the Changzhou Municipal People's Government. Before the opening ceremony, Mayor Ding Chun met with the delegation headed by Avi Luvton, Executive Director of International Cooperation Programs for the Asia Pacific Department at the Israel Innovation Authority (formerly the Office of the Chief Scientist & MATIMOP). Ding Chun thanked the Israel Innovation Authority for its efforts to promote the establishment of the China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park. He said that Changzhou has always attached importance to cooperation with Israeli cities in promoting opening up and technological innovation. In the next step, Changzhou will conscientiously implement the principles of the important instructions of Vice President Wang Qishan, and build the China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park into an important platform for economic development and achieve more fruitful cooperation results. Avi Luvton said that based on the joint construction plan of the China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park, the two sides have been constantly exploring various effective approaches. Early next year, a number of publicity and promotion conferences will be held in Israel to attract more advanced Israeli technology to transfer and develop in the China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park. The China-Israel Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is an enterprise-based platform which selects Israeli projects and teams through multiple rounds of competition, attracts Chinese enterprises and investment institutions to participate, and builds a communication and cooperation bridge for Chinese and Israeli enterprises. This year’s competition focuses on the three fields of information and communication technology, medical equipment, and intelligent manufacturing.
