On the afternoon of November 25, representatives of Changzhou had the first online meeting with Malaga, Spain to promote cooperation between the two cities. Zhang Yu, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Changzhou Municipal People’s Government (CZFAO), Ji Chunlei, director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress, Shen Lian, deputy director of CZFAO, Beatriz Becerra Basterrechea, director-general of Malaga’s Citizen Participation, Migration, Foreign Affairs, Development Cooperation, Transparency and Good Governance, Fu Zhenghong, chairman of Chinese Association of Andalusia in Spain, and Zheng Yueqing, secretary-general of the Association, attended the meeting. The two sides shared views on the areas for exchange and cooperation, such as trade, culture, education, and tourism. The participants discussed and agreed on the content of the memorandum on friendly exchange and cooperation to be signed in the near future. Malaga is a municipality of Spain, capital of the Province of Málaga, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. With a population of approximately 600,000, it is the second-most populous city in Andalusia after Seville and the sixth most populous in Spain. Lying on the Costa del Sol of the Mediterranean, Malaga is one of the oldest cities in the world, founded in the 8th century by the Phoenicians, and was Picasso’s Birthplace. The city is full of historical spots such as the Alcazaba, one of the largest Moorish fortresses in Andalusia, or Gibralfaro Castle, which offers the best views over the city.
