Recently, the first batch of 30 new-energy electric buses were delivered from Zhengzhou to Changzhou Foreign Affairs and Tourism Automotive Services Limited, which are expected to be officially launched within this year. ‘To recharge the bus, just plug in an international-standard charging nozzle, and it takes one hour to fully charge the bus at a 380V, 60kW pile, or about eight hours at a 220V portable pile, said Chen Chuan, senior engineer of Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co., Ltd. Once fully charged, this kind of electric bus can keep running 150-180 km, while the battery capacity and the distance to empty are clearly shown on the dashboard. The bus is equipped with a simple push-button gear, and a high-definition touch screen on the center console which is integrated with navigation, video, music player and other features. As the first company in Changzhou that introduced such new-energy buses, the board of Changzhou Foreign Affairs and Tourism Automotive Services Limited stated that in addition to low-carbon management, comfortable ride and easy operation, the biggest advantage of electric bus is a significant reduction in operating costs. ‘A 19-seat bus usually consumes one yuan of diesel per kilometer, while a electric bus will cost at most three yuan of energy consumption per kilometer. It is reported that these electric buses will first be launched on the commuter lines of large enterprises, which are expected to be put into operation within this year.
