On Mar 10, news came from the West Taihu Lake Technology Park that Renaissance West Taihu Lake hotel is due to open in May next year. The hotel, as one of the key tourism projects in 2021, attracts an investment of 1 billion yuan. The construction is now in full swing.

Located in the central area of Xinghe Lanyue Bay, the Renaissance hotel has a total construction area of 74,000 square meters, with a building height of 200 meters. The hotel is designed to have 345 guest rooms, with 15 rooms on each floor, all of which are lake view rooms, and the tower building will be equipped with a helipad. It is designed to become a comprehensive star-rated hotel integrating high-end accommodation, catering, conference and reception services.

In recent years, the West Taihu Lake area has launched the whole-region tourism project, creating boutique tourist attractions such as Lanyue Bay, "Gehu Star" Sightseeing Tower, China Flower Expo Park and West Taihu Lake Film and Television Industry Base. It has gathered sports tourism projects such as Wujin District Hockey Base, Qifeng Water Sports Club, Milan Yacht Club and DS Circuit; constructed a number of cultural carriers including Liu Haisu-Xia Yiqiao Art Museum, Oil Lamp Museum and Chen Lvsheng Art Museum; hosted signature events such as West Taihu Lake Half Marathon and West Taihu Lake International Music Festival. The area receives more than 1 million visits annually.
