On December 29th, 2015, it was learned from Changzhou Urban and Rural Construction Bureau that Changzhou was honored the China Habitat and Environment Award 2015. The China Habitat and Environment Award was established by the Ministry of Construction and Housing in 2000 according to the evaluation system of the UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour award as well as the actual situation of China. It is currently the most prestigious human settlements award in the country. Its aim is to acknowledge domestic cities and initiatives which have made outstanding contributions in 63 indicators among the six categories of living environment, ecological environment, social harmony, public safety, economic development, and resource conservation. Suqian City of Jiangsu Province and Jiyuan City of Henan Province are also winners of the China Habitat and Environment Award 2015. In addition, 31 projects including the ecosystem planning and construction program of Jiading District, Shanghai have also been awarded the prize this year.
