Recently, Liyang Caoshan Tourist Resort was awarded the title of provincial tourist resort by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government .

In 2011, Caoshan became a city-level modern agricultural industrial park in Changzhou. In May 2016, Liyang Caoshan Tourism Development Co., Ltd. was established to launch the program of Caoshan Tourist Resort. The resort covers an area of 9.02 square kilometers, with the theme of "Colorful Caoshan" and the functions of leisure, vacation and health maintenance. The fruit picking gardens, bicycling park, and the cabins, villas and B&Bs in woods have attracted a large number of tourists each year for sightseeing and vacation.

In recent years, Liyang has increased its investment to expand the tourism industry. At present, Liyang is home to one national forest park, two national wetland parks and two national water conservancy scenic spots.
