On the morning of May 12, the Fourth Session of the 14th Changzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened in the Longcheng Hall of the Administration Center.

Focusing on the government’s key tasks on running municipal affairs, members of the CPPCC Changzhou Municipal Committee are expected to offer proposals and insights for issues like the building of Changzhou’s “Star City� program, major epidemic prevention and control as well as high-quality economic and social development.

Qi Jiabin, Secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, Chen Jinhu, Deputy Party Secretary and Acting Mayor of Changzhou, Yu Zhiping, Chairman of the CPPCC Changzhou Municipal Committee, Zhang Yaogang, Jiang Bibiao, Lu Mingkang, He Yuqing, Wu Xinfa and Xu Weinan, Vice Chairmen of the CPPCC Changzhou Municipal Committee, Chen Junjie, Member of the Party Leadership Group, and Secretary General Zhou Xiaohua were seated in the front row of the rostrum.

Leaders of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, the Municipal People's Congress� Standing Committee, the Municipal People’s Government, the Changzhou Military Division, the Municipal Intermediate People's Court and the Municipal People's Procuratorate attended the opening ceremony of the conference.

The agenda of the Fourth Session of the 14th Changzhou Municipal Committee of the CPPCC was reviewed and approved on the first day of the conference.

Qi Jiabin made a speech entitledPooling Together the Efforts of All Walks of Life to Promote the Building of Changzhou’s “Star City� Program.

Yu Zhiping, delivered a report on the work of the 14th CPPCC Changzhou Municipal Committee’s Standing Committee. Wu Xinfa reported on the proposals offered since the Third Session of the 14th Municipal Committee of the CPPCC. Zhang Yaogang presided over the opening ceremony.
