According to the winners list of China Human Habitat Environment Prize 2012 released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the project of Jintan is honored the China Human Habitat Environment Demonstration Award.

In recent years, Jintan, by means of combining old area renovation with urban area construction, took a lead in affordable housing construction, and gradually completed the supply system of affordable housing, low-rent housing, public rental housing, resettlement housing and real estate, which meets the differentiated needs of people with low, middle or high income. The urban per capita housing area reached 39.5 square meters.
