The Torch High Technology Industry Development Center (Torch Center) of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) recently announced the results of the evaluation of national high-tech zones in 2018. Among the 157 units (including 156 national high-tech zones and Suzhou Industrial Park), Wujin National High-Tech Zone (WIZ) ranked 45th, moving up 6 spots from last year's rankings.

In recent years, WIZ has been focusing on the four leading industries of high-end equipment, electronics and intelligent information, energy conservation and environmental protection, and new energy vehicles. The robot and system integration sector has attracted a number of industry leaders such as Yaskawa and Nabtesco, with which WIZ has become a state-level robot industry base. At the same time, it has introduced high-tech services and project incubation platforms such as GUCOI, Alibaba Innovation Center and Huashu Jinming. WIZ has also gathered 5 enterprise academician workstations, 14 post-doctoral research stations, 139 high-tech enterprises and over 600 leading entrepreneurial teams.
