On October 10, China Association of Medical Equipment (CAME) officially set up its Tissue Regeneration Branch in Changzhou West Taihu Science & Technology Industrial Park. Li Lin, vice mayor of Changzhou and secretary of CPC Wujin District Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The CAME Tissue Regeneration Branch is voluntarily organized by professionals in the regenerative medicine field and is legally registered as a national non-profit social organization. It is specialized in research, development and technology transfer of materials and products related to tissue regeneration. In recent years, tissue and organ regeneration using stem cells and biomaterials has attracted a growing attention from colleges, research institutes and enterprises both at home and abroad. Tissue engineering, in situ tissue regeneration and biomaterials have become a research hotspot with high potential of technology transfer. Changzhou has attached great importance to the development of strategic emerging industrial clusters including biomedicine and new-type medical devices. Currently, the city is home to over 1,000 enterprises from upstream to downstream supply chains with more than 40 billion yuan output value, making Changzhou an important life sciences and health care industry base in the Yangtze River Delta. Wujin district, as a hotspot for medical device industry, has gathered over 180 well-known enterprises in this field, including Sinopharm Genomics Technology Co, Ltd., Beijing AK Medical Co.,Ltd., BenQ Corporation, and Fulong Holdings Co., Ltd.
