The International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world on May 12, on the occasion of Florence Nightingale's birthday. On May 11, a conference was held by the Changzhou Municipal Health Commission to award outstanding nursing teams and staff.

By the end of the 13th Five Year Plan, the number of registered nurses in Changzhou reached 19,913, up 33.6% from 2015. For every 1,000 permanent residents, there were 4.24 registered nurses. A total of 41 specialist clinics treated nearly 100,000 patients annually, offering nursing services for PICC, wound care and diabetes. During the same period, Changzhou boasted over 1000 nursing patents, and 14 provincial and municipal awards in scientific research.
