On August 28, one locally transmitted case of Covid-19 was confirmed and registered in the Suqian city of Jiangsu province.

Six local (one in Nanjing, three in Nantong, and two in Taizhou) and one inbound symptomless case were newly reported in the province.

Another hospitalized Covid-19 patient was discharged, while eight asymptomatic carriers were released from medical observation.

Fourteen confirmed cases (four local and ten inbound) are still undergoing treatment at designated hospitals, while 56 asymptomatic carriers (31 local and 25 inbound) are currently under medical observation in isolation.

As of this update, China's list of virus transmission zones stands at 1,436 high-risk and 1,315 medium-risk areas.
