Recently, Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI), the Administration Committee of Changzhou Science and Education Town, and Academician Guan Guoliang’s team of Monash University in Australia signed a cloud contract to jointly build the LAMP-IDE genetic screening technology platform. Hu Yidong, secretary of the CPC JITRI Committee, Gao Jun, assistant to the director of JITRI, Lu Jinlin, director of the Administration Committee of S&E Town, Fan Junjun, member of the Party Working Committee of the Administration Committee of S&E Town, and Guan Guoliang, academician of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (AAHMS) and professor of Monash University, attended the signing ceremony. Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) is well known for its robust and highly sensitive and specific amplification of target DNA. Compared to traditional tests that require expensive reagents or instruments, a portable LAMP assay can be used for faster and more accurate detection of seizure, lung cancer and other diseases. The test report can be available within about one hour. Moreover, such assay can be applied to hospitals, communities, physical examination centers, and even at home. Based on this technology, the project will develop a series of genetic screening products, including reagents, microfluidic chips, dip-stick type biosensors and portable arrays, with the goal of building a supply chain ecosystem globally. Lu Jinlin said that the successful signing of the LAMP-IDE project is an important practice of the S&E Town in technology transformation and application of international scientific achievements, which will help accelerate Changzhou's industrial transformation and upgrading.
