On December 11, Changzhou Airport successfully passed the flight testing of Airbus A330, which marks its accomplishment of all tasks of the expansion project. With the opening of the new 3,400-meter-long runway, Changzhou Airport has thus entered the "era of big aircraft ." The current airport apron covers 160,000 square meters, and the number of stands has been increased from 6 to 20. The number of aircraft landing or departing during peak hours can reach 19 times. It is expected to reach the annual passenger throughput of 4.9 million, and cargo and mail throughput of 200,000 tons, fully meeting the conditions of Category-1 ports.
