On December 10, the Ryobi Auto Parts Project was officially signed into the Wujin National High-Tech Zone (WIZ). The new project plans to increase the total investment by US$106 million. Mayor Ding Chun met with Mr. Mochidzuki, the executive director of Ryobi Limited, and witnessed the project signing.

Ryobi Limited is a Japanese manufacturer of components for the automobile, electronics, and telecommunications industries. It also sells printing equipment, power tools, and builders' hardware. Ryobi Die Casting (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. was established in 2010 in WIZ with a total investment of US$280 million. The new project signed on December 10 is located in the existing company site, mainly engaged in the production and sales of automotive engine blocks, transmission cylinders and lightweight parts for new energy vehicles.

Ding Chun said that in recent years, Changzhou has focused on intelligent manufacturing with new energy vehicles and auto core components as one of the 10 major industrial chains. The signing of the Ryobi Auto Parts Project further enhanced the city’s competitive advantage and injected new impetus into regional development. In the process of project construction, the local governments at all levels will continue to provide the best services and incentivize early completion of the project.

Mr. Mochidzuki said that currently it is a crucial period for the conversion of iron parts to aluminum parts, which also brings new opportunities for enterprise development. It is hoped that the use of Ryobi’s technology will make greater contributions to the development of Changzhou.
