Update: No new confirmed cases reported in Jiangsu

According to the officially released information from the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, between 00:00 and 24:00, April 7, no new confirmed or asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 were reported in Jiangsu.

As of this update, a total of 20 imported cases have been reported in the province, of which two patients have been discharged from the hospital. No new confirmed local cases were reported in Jiangsu. All the previously confirmed 631 local cases in the province have been discharged from hospital.

Of the traced 13,429 close contacts, 13,134 have been discharged from medical observation, while 295 are still under observation.

Experts note that April 2019 is the 32nd National Health Month with the theme of working together to fight against the virus and maintain healthy hygiene habits.

The public have been urged to carry out cleanup programs and do a good job of waste sorting, in order to maintain cleanness at home, in workplaces and public areas. Recommended precautions include wearing a mask when going out, washing your hands frequently, covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, and keeping your room well-ventilated. To foster a life concept and behavior that are compatible with social progress, it is advised to eat separately, use public chopsticks and avoid eating wild animals. It is also important to have a balanced diet, work out regularly, quit smoking, limit alcohol consumption and try to maintain a good mood.
