During January 20-21, Barclays headed 15 financial institutions including Schroders Group to Changzhou for site visits and exchanges. Fei Gaoyun, Mayor of Changzhou, and Shi Zhijun, Deputy Mayor of Changzhou, held a meeting with the delegation. Fei briefed on Changzhou’s development in the operating system of financial industry, the restructuring of traditional industries, the agglomeration of emerging industries, and the improvement of livelihood projects. In particular, Fei introduced the city’s efforts and targets on the progress of financial services, asset management and capital operation. Barclays and the other financial institutions exchanged views with Changzhou’s relevant authorities and commercial banks about issues like cooperation on international capitals, promoting industrial transformation through financial innovation, etc. They particularly discussed about how to seize the opportunities of global financial reform and innovation as well as the construction of Shanghai free-trade zone, so as to conduct cooperation in a broader area between Changzhou and international financial institutions.
