The opening ceremony of the BOMAG production site was held in the Changzhou National Hi-Tech District (CND) on November 22. Zhou Bin, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of the Party Working Committee of CND, and Hang Yong, vice mayor and secretary-general of Changzhou Municipal People’s Government, attended the event. Germany-based BOMAG is one of the world's leading manufacturers of road-building heavy machinery. BOMAG merged into the French concern FAYAT Group in 2005. Today, BOMAG has branches in 120 countries (the largest are based in the U.S., Canada, China, Japan, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom). For decades, BOMAG has been recognized as a global leader in compaction equipment, road building equipment and other types of heavy equipment, offering breakthrough technology for a wide variety of industries and applications. Bomag (Changzhou) Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. has invested a total of 70 million US dollars with a registered capital of 30 million dollars. The facility covers an area of about 30,000 square meters, including spaces for production, office work, sales and other services. An additional 19 lines for the production of various rollers, pavers and planers have been planned, expecting an annual capacity of 15,000 sets of equipment and output value of 1.5 billion yuan. The company has also established the APAC Engineering R&D Center and the BOMAG China Customer Training Center. Vice Mayor Hang Yong delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He said that BOMAG is not only a global leading manufacturer of compaction and road-building equipment, but also a leader in applications of intelligent and lean production. BOMAG’s new plant in CND will definitely become a driving force for Changzhou’s construction machinery industry in the digital era, said Hang, looking forward to a long-term, stable and mutually beneficial cooperation with FAYA Group and BOMAG in the city’s development of intelligent equipment manufacturing industry.
