On the morning of January 9th, Mr. Pertti Rajala, Mayor of Satakunta Region, Finland, led a delegation to Changzhou. Vice Mayor Fang Guoqiang met with the delegation at the Administrative Center. Members of the delegation are mainly representatives of Satakunta’s elderly care and education sectors. They investigated Changzhou’s elderly care industry in order to promote further cooperation in medical and elderly care between the two cities. In addition, the delegation held a Finnish Education Promotion Forum to introduce the Finnish education system to Changzhou students and their parents. Changzhou and Satakunta established sister-city relationship in 2008. Mayor Pertti Rajala has been committed to promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two cities in many fields. Finland celebrates the 100th anniversary of its independence in 2017. This year the “Changzhou Week activities will be held in Finland. During their stay in Changzhou, the delegates visited a few of Changzhou’s public and private elderly houses, as well as the city’s health training schools, which is part of their market research for setting up elderly care institutions in Changzhou.
