Caijun meets with Nobel Prize winner Shuji Nakamura

On the morning of September 27, Cai Jun, deputy secretary of Changzhou Municipal Committee of CPC, met with Shuji Nakamura, a Japanese-born American electronic engineer specializing in the field of semiconductor technology, the inventor of the blue LED and a winner of Nobel Prize in Physics.

Nakamura was invited to attend the 2018 China (Zouqu) Lighting Expo being held in Changzhou, during which he gave a special speech at Summit on Laser-Driven Light Source Application and Industry Development Trend. The other speakers include Prof. Steven P. DenBaars, the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), and Li Yi, director of Shenzhen Zhongguang Industrial Technology Research Institute.

Cai Jun said at the meeting that the development of the new light source industry has a good foundation in Changzhou. To promote the development of the industry to a higher level, we must rely on technological innovation and talent support. In particular, we need the guidance and help of the world's top scientists. He hoped that the guests will have a deeper understanding of Changzhou to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation.
