On March 5, a delegation of the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) headed by Mr. Manikam Ramaswami, chairman of the TEXPROCIL paid a study visit to Changzhou. At noon, Mr. Fang Guoqiang, vice mayor of Changzhou met with the delegates at the Administration Center. The delegation visited the Black Peony (Group) Co., Ltd., Changzhou Textile Garment Institute and Changzhou Planning Hall, and discussed with the city leaders and relevant department heads of Changzhou about the possibility of cooperation and exchanges in the textile and garment industry. Both India and China are strong in textile industry, bringing about steady progress of bilateral trade in this field. At the special occasion of the Year of China-India Friendly Exchanges 2014, the visit of TEXPROCIL is expected to further promote bilateral trade and investment as well as the development of China's textile industry. Fang briefed the guests on the economic and social development in Changzhou, and expressed the hope of seeking more opportunities to enhance mutual understanding and friendship. The two sides talked in length about the Sino-Indian friendship, and discussed about the possible areas of bilateral trade and investment, especially in the textile and garment industry.
