In recent years, the economic and trade cooperation between Macao and Jiangsu has been enhanced, with frequent exchanges in the fields of technology, education, culture and tourism.

On March 30th, Party Secretary Yan Li received the delegation headed by Chui Sai On, Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR). Fei Shaoyun, Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, Sheng Keqin, Deputy Director of the Organization Department, Jiangsu Provincial Committee of CPC, and city leaders Zhang Chunfu, Cai Jun and Fang Guoqiang attended the meeting.

During the Macao delegation’s stay in Changzhou, they visited the West Taihu Science and Technology Industrial Park (Jiangsu Wujin Economic Zone, WEZ), and investigated the National Public Service Platform of Smart Tourism and the China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park. Chui Sai On highly evaluated the distinctive industrial sectors and energetic entrepreneurial environment of WEZ.

So far, more than 10 Macao enterprises have invested in Changzhou, with approximately USD $400 million investment in total. Changzhou has held tourism promotion activities in Macao for many times, and has set up a tourism promotion center in Macao. Changzhou has also sent delegations to the events of Summit for Commercial and Industrial Development of Jiangsu, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries.
