On November 6, the Matchmaking Fair for Changzhou’s Smart Grid Industrial Chain, organized by Changzhou Municipal Commission of Economy and Information, attracted 147 member companies of the city’s industry associations in fields of power transmission, photovoltaic, nuclear power, thermoelectric, electric power and so on. Deputy Mayor Mr. Wang Chengbin was present at the fair.
The smart grid is a significant strategic orientation of China's electric power system, as well as an important goal of the country’s energy planning. Changzhou is one of the most developed regions of China's power equipment manufacturing industry, which has reached the international advanced level in UHV and FACTS technology. From January to September 2012, the city's power transmission industry has achieved the main business income of over 42.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 13%.
In the next five years, Changzhou's smart grid will enter the construction phase, with the goal of becoming the No.1 city of China’s smart grid equipment industry.
