The 3rd China (Changzhou) Internet of Things Conference kicks off

On December 15, the 3rd China (Changzhou) Internet of Things Conference was grandly opened at the Changzhou Industrial Internet Experience Center. Academician Zhao Yusheng of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Zhu Zhihong, Director of Changzhou Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Shen Xinfeng, Deputy Director of Changzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Qian Bin, Deputy General Manager of Changzhou Broadcasting and Television Group, and other experts and scholars attended the conference. The event attracted nearly 300 participants from Hohai University, Jiangsu University of Technology, Hunan University Changzhou Machinery Equipment Research Institute, China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom, Alibaba, Siemens, Sany Heavy Industry, Yongan, BeStar Electronics, Ruice Consulting, and the media.

The conference was co-sponsored by Changzhou Internet of Things Industry Association and Changzhou Zhongwu Media Co., Ltd., hosted by Alibaba Cloud Innovation Center (Wujin) Base, and co-organized by Hohai University, Changzhou University, Changzhou Computer Society, Changzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Association, Changzhou Power Transmission and Transformation Industry Association and Jiangsu Ruice Information Consulting Co., Ltd.

Highly valued by the Changzhou Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Changzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Changzhou Public Security Bureau and other relevant departments, the conference has attracted the participation of authoritative experts and scholars. The guest speakers gave a wide range of speeches from manufacturing to R&D, from artificial intelligence to machine learning, containing a large number of disciplines. Their insights and research results represent the high-level development of the Internet of Things.

Per IDC's Spending Guide, worldwide spending on the Internet of Things (IoT) is forecast to reach $772.5 billion in 2018, an increase of 14.6% over the $674 billion spent in 2017. A new update to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Semiannual Internet of Things Spending Guide forecasts worldwide IoT spending to sustain a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.4% through the 2017-2021 forecast period, surpassing the $1 trillion mark in 2020 and reaching $1.1 trillion in 2021.
