Graphene industry, a new business card of Changzhou and Jiangsu

In recent years, Changzhou has been enhancing the Entrepreneurship in Jiangsu action and achieved new progress in the promotion of popular entrepreneurship and innovation.

Changzhou and Wujin National Hi-tech Districts have been approved as provincial demonstration bases for mass entrepreneurship. Wujin District became the only national demonstration zone for popular entrepreneurship and innovation in Jiangsu province.

In 2016, Changzhou added more than 19 maker spaces at or above municipal level, including two national maker spaces and 11 provincial maker spaces. Up to now, the city has a total of 64 maker spaces above municipal level, providing more than 100,000 square meters of incubation area for over 700 business startups.

Five years ago, the West Taihu Hi-tech Zone seized the opportunity of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, and took the lead in development of graphene industry. At present, the Jiangnan Graphene Industrial Park has gathered 82 graphene enterprises, two of which have got listed on the new OTC market. The annual output of graphene-related industries is expected to exceed 2 billion yuan. The industry has become a new business card of Changzhou and even Jiangsu province.
