2017 marks the 240th anniversary of the founding of the city of Stavropol, Changzhou’s sister city in Russia. In order to tie in with the celebrations, Stavropol held a painting contest called "We Are Children on the Same Planet" and invited Changzhou’steenagers to attend the contest.

Upon invitation, Changzhou Teen Activity Center sent 10 works of 10 students to the competition.

Recently, good news came from Stavropol thatfour students' works were awarded Special, First, Second and Third Prizes respectively, while the other six students won the Participation Award. These works will be on display at the Stavropol Children's Art School.

Founded in 1777, Stavropol is the capital of Stavropol Krai and the political, economic, scientific, educational and cultural center of the North Caucasus. Since Changzhou and Stavropol were twinned in July 2014, the two sides have conducted active exchanges and cooperation in economy, education and culture.
