Changzhou Airport to open port of Category I

On April 17, it was learned from Changzhou Municipal Office for Port Services that Changzhou is about to open the port of Category I, which has already been approved by the State Council and is ready for provincial pre-acceptance and national acceptance examinations.

After the port is opened, flight to Hong Kong will be available in Changzhou for the first time, and the Airport is planning to open other international routes to Taiwan and Southeast Asia.

By the end of last year, the renovation and expansion of the Airport has been completed. Now it has apron of 160,000-square meters-large parking apron, 3,400-meters-long runway and 20 remote stands, capable of annual passenger throughput of 4.9 million and cargo and mail throughput of 200,000 tons.

In addition, Changzhou Airport already has the ability to accommodate Boeing 747 and Airbus A330, large freighters and other wide-body aircraft, suitable for long-distance and international airline operations.
