Recently, Liyang has implemented a certification system for edible agricultural products on the market, including vegetables, fruits, eggs and so on. This measure not only ensures traceability of product information, but also renovates food safety governance.

The certificates for edible agricultural products are mainly issued to production enterprises, farmers' professional cooperatives, family farms and small farmers for their products like vegetables, fruits, livestock and poultry, eggs, and aquatic products. The certificate can be a paper certificate or a barcode covering the product information. All the edible agricultural products in Liyang’s shopping malls, supermarkets and food markets are required to have such certificates. The market supervision authorities will inspect, register and publicize the information of issued certificates. For those who fail to provide the certificate, their products are required to pass the sampling test before entering the market.

As of now, more than 38,313 certificates for edible agricultural products have been issued in Liyang.
