On June 16, Party Secretary Chen Jinhu met with the Hohai University (HHU) delegation headed by Prof. Tang Hongwu, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of HHU, and Prof. Xu Hui, President of HHU.

Chen Jinhu highly appreciated HHU’s support for Changzhou’s economic and social development over the years. He said that Changzhou, oriented toward an international star city of intelligent manufacturing and a pivotal hub in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region, is now gaining the best momentum for innovation-driven, high-quality development in all respects.

Chen pointed out that HHU Changzhou Campus serves as a talent pool and think tank for the city, with its new campus currently under construction in the Inter-Lake Innovation Zone, a future-based development area of Changzhou.

Stating that Changzhou will fully support HHU’s development in Changzhou, he looked forward to enhanced cooperation between the two sides by building more platforms for encouraging innovation and nurturing creative talents.

Prof. Tang Hongwu and Prof. Xu Hui shared that the new campus of HHU Changzhou will be put into use in autumn 2023, enrolling 20,000 full-time students approximately. Forging ahead, HHU will continuously optimize its disciplines, faculties, and programs to better serve the integration of education, research, and local industries.

City leaders Hang Yong, Xu Huaqin, and Jiang Pengju were present at the meeting.
