According to the Changzhou Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, in 2020, the industrial robot enterprise in the city reached seven billion yuan in revenue, registering stable growth and accounting for over 50% of the provincial output.
Wujin National High-Tech Industrial Zone, as the only pilot area for the robotics cluster in Jiangsu, gathers 60 plus enterprises ranging from robotic R&D, manufacturing to supporting services. A complete industrial chain has been formed, covering components manufacturing and whole machine assembly. In the first half of 2021, thirteen enterprises above the designated size in the high-tech zone reached a sales volume of over four billion yuan, up 112% year-on-year.
Yaskawa (Changzhou) Electromechanical Integrated System Co., Ltd., which has an investment of over one billion USD, is expected to be completed by the end of this year. As a leading enterprise in robotics, Yaskawa established its first overseas manufacturing base in Wujin in 2012. Currently, Yaskawa (China) Robotics Co., Ltd. has the largest single-factory capacity in the world, with a total shipment of over 50,000 units.
Apart from Yaskawa, an array of industrial robot manufacturers, including Nabtesco, Ston Robot and Jaka, have settled in the Wujin District. With a high degree of clustering, breakthroughs have been made in terms of core technologies and industrial synchronization. Research platforms, such as Gugao Smart Innovation Center, Institute of Applied Research on Intelligent Science & Technology, and China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group, have also settled in the high-tech zone.
