On September 1, a plate-awarding ceremony was held in Liyang, officially making the city a pilot area for the program of building the National Medical Data Center and industrial parks.

The program, first introduced to Liyang in June this year, will focus on building an operation center of medical data and a smart healthcare city. Currently, the initial construction plan has been completed by the Chinese Medical Information and big data Association (CHMIA).

Liyang is among the second batch of pilot cities for the program. In the first half of 2021, the output value of the smart healthcare industry in Liyang reached 52.5 billion yuan, accounting for a quarter of the local GDP.
