According to the officially released information from the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, on February 4, Jiangsu had 33 newly confirmed cases of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus, of which five were in Changzhou. As of this update, two patients in Changzhou have fully recovered and were discharged from the hospital yesterday.

The five newly confirmed cases in Changzhou came from the same family. Two of them had close contact with their neighbors (currently observed as suspected cases) who have recently traveled from Wuhan to Changzhou. The oldest patient was 61, and the youngest was 33. All of them are currently receiving treatment in designated hospitals and are in stable physical condition. 58 close contacts have been found and are now under medical quarantine.

As of February 4, a total of 341 confirmed cases have been reported in Jiangsu, of which 24 cases were confirmed in Changzhou.

Experts urge people to stay at home and avoid public situations. Do not use public transportation if possible. Private car drivers are encouraged to open windows for ventilation. Wear a mask if you have to go out, and clean and disinfect your hands often. If symptoms such as fever, cough, soreness of throat, chest distress, breathing difficulty, feebleness or diarrhea have occurred, call 12320 (health hotline) or 85683343 (hotline of Changzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office for expats) for consultation and seek treatment at one of the designated hospitals if necessary.
