On the afternoon of April 29, Zhou Changzhong, deputy director of Changzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and chief of Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office, received the delegation headed by Wang Bin, representative of the Shanghai office of Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). Wang introduced to Zhou the SmartHK expo to be held by the HKTDC in early June in Nanjing. Upon the agreement of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, the event will be co-sponsored by the HKTDC and the Hong Kong & Macau Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, and co-organized by the HKTDC, Jiangsu Provincial Commission of Economy and Information Technology, the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province, etc. By then, the HKTDC will organize about 200 well-known HK companies and organizations to showcase their advanced experience in creative design, technological innovation, management innovation, etc. They will also hold several matchmaking meetings with companies in Jiangsu. Zhou proposed for assisting the organization of the event and asked for positive responses to Changzhou companies†applications. Zhou said that the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office will work closely with the Municipal Bureau of Commerce to organize local companies to attend the event based on the types and cooperation intentions of the participating HK enterprises.
